The new biobanking infrastructure of the University of Szeged is located in a two-story facility of nearly 400 square meters. This cutting-edge building integrates advanced industrial cold storage technology, specialized building monitoring and security systems, and smart technologies to precisely control environmental parameters. Our commitment to excellence extends to every aspect of our facility, ensuring maximum safety, quality, and functionality. To this end, we have integrated some specialized features tailored to meet a wide range of research and storage needs.
Our controlled environment guarantees the preservation of biobank samples, with storage options ranging from room temperature storage (e.g. FFPE blocks) to storage of samples with different refrigeration requirements (-20°C, -80°C, -196°C liquid nitrogen storage is possible).
In addition to our conventional ULT cryogenic storage systems, semi-automatic storage systems are also available to ensure our capacity to store millions of samples.
In designing the new biobanking infrastructure, we have sought to provide the storage of samples and the complex environment associated with it. The biobank also houses two BSL-2 biological laboratories, which are equipped for research and allow for the storage of various infectious samples, which traditional biobanks cannot provide. The building has administrative areas for efficient operations and educational spaces to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Whether you seek secure storage solutions or a cutting-edge research environment, our facility is ready to meet your needs. Contact us confidently and discover the potential of our innovative, technology-driven, ISO 20387:2018 certified infrastructure.
