Objectives of the Biobank Competence Centre

Our mission's core is the high-quality, authentic, and reliable storage of biobank samples. We are committed to creating an environment conducive to translational medicine, personalized healthcare, and precision medicine at the University of Szeged. In addition to providing innovative technology and infrastructure, we leverage the academic strengths of the University of Szeged and its deep expertise in clinical research, life sciences, medicine, and innovation management. This way, we offer comprehensive biobanking capacity, expertise across the entire biobanking process, and a professional, high-tech environment. Our services are tailored to the needs of professionals in clinical diagnostics, clinical research, oncology research, and personalized medicine and include education, research, innovation, and know-how exploitation.

In creating the new IKIKK Biobank Competence Centre, we aimed to

- Develop a specialized competence center and infrastructure to meet market development needs.

- Promote collaboration with the business sector to develop technology and infrastructure.

- Establish and maintain a synergistic biobanking knowledge base at university, national, and international levels, focusing on education, research, and quality assurance.

- Implement and manage biobank projects per national and international RDI strategic orientations.

- Establish best practices in translational medicine, facilitating the creation and growth of research results and their practical exploitation for the University of Szeged and its collaborating partners through three interrelated pillars: innovation, knowledge creation, knowledge transfer, and knowledge exploitation.
