Ongoing projects

Our Biobank supports our partners in many projects:

SINGLE-CELL PROTEOGENOMIC MAPPING OF MITOTIC PROCESSES IN HUMAN TUMORS - SINLGE MITO 01

The project is carried out in collaboration with the European Cancer Moonshot Centre at our institution, led by Dr. István Németh (Department of Dermatology and Allergology, SZTE).

The project aims to isolate groups of cells with different morphological characteristics (e.g., at a specific stage of cell division) in human tumor samples by image processing and deep learning machine learning methods and to remove them from the tissue by laser microdissection to investigate their molecular composition (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics). This research may help better understand the relationship between cell morphology and molecular composition and, based on omics measurements, identify new potential targets for tumor therapy.

Institutions involved in the project:

Szeged Biological Research Centre, Hungary

University of Szeged, Hungary

University of Lund, Sweden

Clinical Proteomics Group, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, Denmark.
