The Operations Directorate (OPS) is the EIB’s client-facing Directorate, responsible for the origination and execution of projects inside of the European Union and for delivering the bank’s business plan (“Operational Plan”) in line with priorities defined by its shareholders, the EU’s 27 Member States.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st March/April 2024)

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINEESHIP
The Operations Directorate (OPS) is the EIB’s client-facing Directorate, responsible for the origination and execution of projects inside of the European Union and for delivering the bank’s business plan (“Operational Plan”) in line with priorities defined by its shareholders, the EU’s 27 Member States. In addition, OPS is responsible for the mobilisation and management of third-party funds (mandates) in support of EIB activities and coordinates and provides advisory services to project promoters and managing authorities receiving EU budgetary funds.
OPS is the Bank’s biggest Directorate, numbering around 730 staff, grouped in 10 departments, of which seven are transactional (Western Europe, Baltic Sea and Northern Europe, Central and South Eastern Europe, Iberia, Adriatic Sea, Financial Institutions, Equity,Growth Capital and Project Finance) and three have horizontal functions (Business Planning & Mandate Management, Operations Support and Advisory Services).
As a Trainee assigned to one of OPS Departments, you will have the opportunity to be exposed to the EIB’s mission and values providing support to lending experts on a wide range of tasks in the framework of the EIB project cycle.
