Our goal is to provide valuable work experience to SZTE students, as this is becoming more and more important in today’s job market. Besides enhancing various skills, students will get to experience the professional environment, engage in daily tasks, solve challenges independently, and gain valuable connections that could help in securing a future job.
The alternative internship is an accredited course at SZTE.
How it works:
Students interested in this program can check out available internship opportunities on the SZTE Career Office website after a quick registration. Once you find a suitable position, you can apply by clicking on the "Apply to the offer" button and uploading your CV and cover letter. The organization or university unit will select the intern that best fits their needs. The selected student’s application will be approved, while others will be declined. This process is managed through the "Cycle" section. A partnership agreement is signed with the Directorate for Education (operator of SZTE Career Office), where the organization agrees to assign a mentor who will support the intern with tasks and skill development. The mentor must have a higher education degree and at least two years of experience in the relevant field. The internship schedule will be agreed upon by both parties in a voluntary contract. At the end of the internship, both the organization and the student will provide evaluations. The student will also submit a professional report. These evaluations are done online through the SZTE Career Office website.
Course Process:
The alternative internship can be taken as an elective course, providing 2 credits upon completion. The evaluation will be based on a 3-point scale: excellent, satisfactory, or fail. (Please note that SZTE ÁJTK students should only apply if they don’t mind completing the internship without earning credits, as Neptun cannot process these credits.)
