Experts from the EUGLOH 2.0 association, as well as representatives of the invited universities and institutes, exchanged experiences on international higher education, research, and development projects from May 29, 2023, for one week at the University of Novi Sad. The University of Szeged had the largest delegation at the conference organized in the framework of Erasmus+.

Ovation, applause, flag waving, waving. This is how the students of Rutgers University received the announcement of the inauguration of Katalin Karikó, an SZTE alumna and professor, as an honorary doctor. Thanks to the praising words introducing the world-famous mRNA researcher, the name of the University of Szeged was also mentioned at the stadium-sized ceremony of the 8th oldest higher education institution in the USA. Biologists from Szeged met at the state university of New Jersey.

The University of Szeged is included in the 2023 top list of the Center for World University Rankings: it ranks 708th on the list featuring the top 2000 universities of the world, landing SZTE among the top 3 Hungarian institutions. The University of Szeged got the best ranking among Hungarian universities in the area that measures academic excellence.

In autumn 2023, 39 Indonesian students from 19 universities will study at SZTE. The students are funded by the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards. According to surveys measuring the effectiveness of the programme, 100% of participating students would recommend the University of Szeged to their peers.

On 3 June, Richter Health City will visit Széchenyi Square in Szeged. A series of health promotion programmes launched by the Hungarian pharmaceutical company in 2009 offers residents the opportunity to participate in health screenings and consultations free of charge, without making an appointment. Participants in the event can not only do something for themselves, but also support the Szent-Györgyi Albert University of Szeged Clinical Centre.

The United States' biggest cash prize in science was handed out at an award ceremony in Hollywood, where world-renowned researchers, including Katalin Karikó, professor of the University of Szeged, were celebrated by movie and media stars and other celebrities.

Low risk, huge success. This is how the hearing improvement surgeries, of which more than a thousand have already been performed at the Szent-Györgyi Albert Clinical Center of the University of Szeged, can be characterized. Cochlear's implant helps young children born deaf and also provides a solution for hearing loss in old age. In Szeged, representatives of Cochlear company discussed further development opportunities with the medical team led by László Rovó.
