On 3 June, Richter Health City will visit Széchenyi Square in Szeged. A series of health promotion programmes launched by the Hungarian pharmaceutical company in 2009 offers residents the opportunity to participate in health screenings and consultations free of charge, without making an appointment. Participants in the event can not only do something for themselves, but also support the Szent-Györgyi Albert University of Szeged Clinical Centre.

Over the years, the Health City has become an event which, in addition to health screenings and advice, also hosts interactive and informative presentations and entertaining stage shows. This provides a meaningful and useful pastime for all ages. Anyone of any age can participate in the programmes and health screenings. Participants in the event can not only do something for themselves, but also support the Szent-Györgyi Albert University of Szeged Clinical Centre. For every screening, counselling, live or online listened lecture, 500 Forints will be added to the 3.500.000 Forints donation from Richter. So it will be up to the public's engagement to reach the donation target at the end of the day: modernising post-COVID care.

At the Szent-Györgyi Albert Clinical Centre of the University of Szeged, the post-covid cardiology patient care works in close cooperation with the infectology department.

The proceeds of the Richter Health Day event will be used to upgrade the ultrasound equipment currently only fitted with basic equipment. Further development of a strain testing programme would be needed in the future to diagnose the deterioration of heart function. In patients with Covid infection, a basic cardiac ultrasound scan may not detect myocardial involvement, but a strain scan may show damage.

The event will start with the Health Walk: at 9 am, participants will start the day with a walk from Dóm Square to the event venue.

This year, the first admission to the event will be rewarded with a double donation of 1000 Forints, so Health Walk participants early in the morning will raise support for the clinic with a donation of 1500 Forints.

Visitors to the event will be able to participate in around 30 different types of screenings and counselling sessions. Among other things, there will be prostate screening (PSA), osteoporosis screening and bone density measurement, skin and nail fungus screening, cholesterol and blood pressure measurement, vascular stenosis testing, neuropathy screening for diabetics, as well as advice on pharmacy, memory problems, diet, asthma, diabetology, gynaecology and urology.

Richter rewards each activity with 1 virtual donation point worth 500 Forints. In this way, residents are not only doing something for themselves, but also for the community.

In addition to the screenings and counselling, there will also be family programmes: in addition to the gymnastics of Attila Katus starting at 9:45, visitors will be able to watch several dance performances and stage shows, and at 14:30 Tibor Kocsis will take to the stage.

The Richter for Women tent will host lifestyle presentations all day long by Nóra Szily, Kata Jaksity, Andrea Molnár and Alexandra Béres, while the youngest children will be entertained by a puppet theatre, a children's corner, an interactive experience room, a virtual factory visit, children's dance and a first aid demonstration.

In addition to being present in person, there is also the opportunity to raise funds online, as several presentations will be streamed online on the Richter Health City Facebook page. Activities under posts are also worth donation points - every like, comment and share is worth 500 Forints to the Szent-Györgyi Albert Szent-Györgyi Clinical Center of the University of Szeged.

Further information and the detailed programme are available at www.egeszsegvaros.hu and on the Richter Health City Facebook page.
