Five graduates received their French-Hungarian double degree on the 10th of December 2016 in Lille, France. The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged in cooperation with the Institute of Political Studies of Lille already awards students double masters in International Relations with specialization in European Studies for three years.
The Times Higher Education (THE) has published its newest ranking the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017. The University of Szeged has the 129th place on the list – which result shows slightly improvement compared to earlier 136th position.

The opening ceremony of this academic year was organized by Francophone University Centre on 6th and 8th October. The events were attended by francophone teachers and students of SZTE, representatives of Algerian and French diplomacy as well as representatives of partner higher education institutions and former French government scholars.
Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations where high school and college students play the part of representatives meeting in structured committees - Security Council, UN Women, European Council, Human Rights Council. The conference was held between 29th September and 2nd October in Szeged.
