Join a unique program at American Corner Szeged on May 8 at 11.00-12.00 for a unique discussion with Dr. Vyacheslav (Slava) Lukin, scientist from the U.S. National Science Foundation.


During the 1 hour program, attendees will learn about Dr. Lukin's career and experiences, followed by an extensive Q&A, where they can ask questions about science, physics and their other favorite topics.

Short Bio: Dr. Vyacheslav (Slava) Lukin is a physicist and a Program Director at the U.S. National Science Foundation in the Washington, DC area. Nearly 30 years ago, as a teenager, Dr. Lukin and his family moved from Belarus to the United States of America. Since then, Dr. Lukin has studied, worked, and lived all across the U.S., from the State of New York on the East Coast, to New Mexico in the Southwest, to the State of Washington in Northwest. Dr. Lukin received a Bachelor of Arts degree with specialization in physics and mathematics from Swarthmore College, a small liberal arts college near Philadelphia, PA; and a Ph.D. in Astrophysical Sciences from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey in 2008. After a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Washington and several years as a research scientist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, since 2014, Dr. Lukin has been directing the program in plasma physics and leading a variety of cross-cutting multi-disciplinary activities at the National Science Foundation.
