The in-patient unit and the specialised regional out-patient clinic are located at the Kálvária sugárút Block of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Health Centre, while the Clinic Division of the Department – the secondary rheumatology service of Szeged region – is to be found in the Tisza Lajos körút City Clinic. Activities at the Department Of Rheumatology And Immunology involve the management of the whole spectrum of adult rheumatic diseases, including the systemic autoimmune syndromes. The out-patient clinic of the Kálvária sugárút Division is specialised for the care of patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases, including autoimmune connective tissue diseases, and serve as the tertiary referral centre for the region of South-East Hungary with a catchment area of 1.3 million inhabitants. The in-patient unit consists of two divisions: Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology. The in-patient unit supplies the treatment of complicated cases of polyarthritis or autoimmune connective tissue diseases with various internal organ involvements, and the complex medical and physiotherapeutic management of non-inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions. The Clinic Division provides routine rheumatology specialist service for the patients of Szeged and its surroundings.
