About us
IKIKK, or the Centre of Excellence for Interdisciplinary Research, Development and Innovation of the University of Szeged is a unique institution that gathers and nurtures the best scientists, studies and projects of the University. We believe that structured information transfer and a firm, structured foundation together provide an admirable background to our most excellent scientists to convert their unique ideas into innovations and, eventually, into profit faster and more efficiently. We work to take as much operative burden off our scientists as we can to help the birth of revolutionary innovations and results that have a real impact on both the domestic and international research and business environment.
The Centre of Excellence for Interdisciplinary Research, Development and Innovation of the University includes six clusters that both encompass the fields of research (Life Sciences, Science and Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences) and the areas of developments set in the Institutional Development Plan of the University (Educational Development, Healthcare Development, Third Mission Developments). The goal of the Centre is to consciously increase the innovation capabilities of the University and to enhance the practical benefits of research results, thus strengthening the cooperation between the agents of the R+D and innovation ecosystem. Our Clusters consist of Competence Centres and Programs that are knowledge bases built on the synergic cooperation of our research groups and partners. In every field of study, our Competence Centres and Programs disseminate and use the acquired knowledge in a focused and coordinated way in order to enrich the University’s domestic and foreign partners.
