The Unviersity of Szeged is an institution of higher education training environmentally conscious and healthy citizens who are able to adapt to modern, global and constantly changing social challenges and who can understand and handle complex social and professional problems. As one of the most prominent establishments of the Southern Great Plain Region, the University feels exceptional responsibility to take an active part in forming the region’s social, economic, and cultural development and life and to lead by example.

The main goal of the Cluster is to support social innovation and to establish the ideas of corporate social responsibility and sustainability in the educational and research processes of the University.

By creating this Cluster, the University testifies that, beside creating it, we pay special attention to sharing knowledge among members of academic circles, society and the market. As one of the most prominent organizations of the region, it is extremely important for the University to promote the economic and social applications of knowledge assets and the improvement of the region’s liveability and wellbeing. By realizing its body culture concept, the University of Szeged seeks to set an example in the Southern Great Plain Region as a higher education unit nurturing healthy citizens and a workplace promoting an active lifestyle.

The University wants to assume a leading role in the innovation ecosystem regarding economic development and social challenges. The environmentally responsible “green” function, the implementation of the UN sustainable development goals, the promotion of science and the dissemination of information are all priorities of the University.
