HEALTHCARE INNOVATION is the combination of certain activities and technology that, in order to achieve a given goal, leave the already existing framework behind by expanding the horizon of possibilities.
In healthcare, it refers to the implementation of the principle of “more for cheaper” – more value, higher efficiency, more comfort, better availability and more simplicity, all at a cheaper price, in a less difficult way, in less time on both the patient’s and the service provider’s side while expanding the current possibilities.
Healthcare technology includes all activities that are meant to promote and restore health or to diagnose its status, all devices and substances used during the process, and all protocols describing their use.
The goals of the Cluster are to increase the innovation capabilities of the University, to enhance the practical benefits of research results in healthcare, and to strengthen the cooperation between the agents of the R+D and innovation ecosystem while stimulating the evolution of the University’s own research results into healthcare services and the faster implementation of healthcare innovations from other institutions.
The Cluster promotes efficient communication and cooperation between units performing innovation and medical activities. One of its key priorities is the business development support of the University’s own healthcare providers.
With the guidance of professional and operations managers, the Cluster harmonizes the operation and development of knowledge bases founded on the synergic cooperation of competence centres, programs, research groups, and partners, and executes its strategic development programs.
