The University of Szeged and the French University of Réunion Island have signed a letter of intention on international cooperation in French and Hungarian, covering developments in common fields of education and research that will be of benefit to both parties.
The representatives of the French University, Prof. Dr. Anne-Françoise Zattara, Vice-Rector for European Affairs, International Relations and Regional Cooperation of the University of Réunion and Dr. Anna Szegvàri-Mas, International Project Manager of the University of Réunion Island were received by Dr. Judit Fendler, Chancellor of the University of Szeged, Dr. Tamás Bene, Director of International and Public Relations of the University of Szeged, Dr. Péter Kruzslicz, Administrative Director of the Francophone University Centre of the University of Szeged and Tibor Zilahi, Institutional Programme Coordinator of the ERASMUS+ Programme of the University of Szeged on 22 April 2022.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to develop closer cooperation relations in the spirit of mutually beneficial partnership and to improve their knowledge and expertise in the fields of education and research, given the importance of international strategies. These have been confirmed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding regarding a framework agreement for international cooperation.

The first tangible results of the international cooperation framework agreement are expected at the end of April, when the head of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Szeged and two colleagues will visit the University of Réunion with the support of the ERASMUS+ programme. In the near future, several staff members of the French partner institution will also visit the SZTE to finalise the details of the academic cooperation and to sign the cooperation agreement.
