What can a university provide its students with?
Generally speaking, universities provide students with knowledge, love of the chosen profession and special attitude to life. These were also our aims when we launched a “greening” programme in our University; and we are fortunate because we can cooperate with a generation which believes that the Earth has not been inherited from our fathers, but is lent to us by our grandchildren.
The use of solar cell energy influences our infrastructure resulting in the saving of tens of millions of forints, while reducing our ecological footprint. The green developments of the Study and Information Centre (TIK), the university buildings functioning on the basis of environment-friendly principles, great success of the use of geothermal energy and campaigns inspiring energy saving and supporting the already widespread use of bicycles are clear-cut examples of our green university programme.
