The SPRING FESTIVAL – BYD Career & Chinese Culture event, to be held on February 19, 2026, at the University of Szeged’s József Attila Study and Information Centre (TIK), will highlight international career opportunities, provide exclusive insights into BYD, and showcase the vibrant traditions of Chinese culture. Jointly organized by BYD, the SZTE Career Office, and the SZTE Confucius Institute, the program aims to offer a unique blend of professional networking and cultural celebration.

On December 3, 2025, the University of Szeged and BYD signed a strategic framework agreement, opening up new internship and traineeship opportunities for students of six of SZTE’s faculties. The SPRING FESTIVAL – BYD Career & Chinese Culture event serves as a special occasion celebrating this strategic agreement, further strengthening the long-term partnership between the University and one of its key corporate partners, while bringing career prospects and intercultural dialogue into the spotlight.

From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to explore how BYD operates and discover the diverse career paths the company offers. SZTE students can learn about available internship and traineeship programs, gain insights into Chinese business culture – from its foundational principles to real-world negotiation practices – and engage directly with representatives from BYD’s various professional divisions.

From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the program transitions into a vibrant and interactive Spring Festival hosted by the SZTE Confucius Institute. The afternoon event showcases the richness of Chinese traditions to strengthen Chinese–Hungarian cultural ties and create a shared festive experience through colorful stage performances, hands-on activities, and opportunities for cultural exchange.

Throughout the day, interactive cultural stalls will offer participants an opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese traditions. Visitors can try their hand at Chinese calligraphy, challenge one another to a game of Chinese chess, decorate traditional masks, and experience the ritual of a traditional tea ceremony. In addition, playful Chinese-language activities will provide a fun and accessible introduction to the language and its written characters.

Those with a creative spirit will even get the chance to design their own Spring Festival window decorations and paper lanterns. Participants will also be able to put their cultural knowledge to the test in an interactive quiz on Chinese culture, culminating in a festive New Year’s raffle in celebration of the Chinese New Year, which begins on February 17, 2026.
