From February 2026, students at the University of Szeged’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (SZTE BTK) will have access to free, in-person psychological counseling through the Faculty’s new Psychological Counseling Service. The service provides up to five individual sessions per student, available in both Hungarian and English and delivered by qualified and experienced professionals. With registration taking place via email, the initiative is designed to provide timely professional support to students.
University years represent a formative stage of life, bringing a wide range of experiences, responsibilities, and challenges. At times, navigating both expected and unexpected situations can be demanding. Students may occasionally feel exhausted, experience reduced motivation, or find it difficult to make important decisions – moments when they may feel the need for support.
To assist students in dealing with challenging situations effectively, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Szeged (SZTE BTK) now offers psychological and life-management support to students enrolled in its bachelor’s, master’s, undivided, and PhD programs. The service is available in both Hungarian and English, with up to five counseling sessions provided per academic year. Consultations are conducted by professionals with extensive experience in the field of higher education.
Students may seek support from the Counseling Service in the following areas, among others:
In addition to the areas listed, the Counseling Service also supports students in addressing a broad range of other life-management challenges. Throughout the process, all consultations are conducted under strict confidentiality.
