Extended Opening Hours at University Library to Help Students During Exams

Starting this weekend, the SZTE Klebelsberg Library will extend its opening hours to better accommodate students preparing for exams, helping them maximize their study time. For a month, the university library will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The university library has always been a popular spot for students preparing for exams, often reaching full capacity in the afternoons and evenings. During the exam period, however, visitor numbers nearly double, with over 3,500 students entering daily.

The group study space on the third floor is generally the library’s most popular area, where students study together, sharing ideas and insights. At the same time, many prefer the less busy reading rooms, which offer a tranquil environment ideal for focused study. Additionally, the recently renovated Periodicals Reading Room on the ground floor and the “Reading Nook” on the first floor now feature comfortable new armchairs.

The library’s computer lab is also in high demand during this period, due to the rising number of on-site electronic exams. Over the course of the week, approximately 800 students are expected to take various tests across 28 sessions. Next week, even more students are anticipated, with nearly 1,900 participants scheduled for exams in 21 sessions.

Services such as registration, borrowing, and deliveries from storage are available during regular opening hours – weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. In addition, during the late evening hours, the library remains open for on-site reading, studying, and accessing online databases.
