On September 5, 2025, at the opening ceremony of the University of Szeged’s 2025/26 academic year, the institution conferred the Young Lecturer of the Year award on Dr. Anita Kéri of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

Each year, SZTE presents the Young Lecturer of the Year distinction to young colleagues who demonstrate exceptional performance in teaching and research, and who actively contribute to the university community through their student-focused mindset and professional dedication. This year’s awardee, Dr. Anita Kéri, was recognized for the inspiring energy she brings to her work and her commitment to fostering student success at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Recently, we asked her what this recognition means to her.

“It is a tremendous honor to be named Young Lecturer of the Year at SZTE! I was especially delighted to learn that student feedback played such an important role in the committee’s decision,” she says with enthusiasm. “Each year, the committee reviews the anonymous evaluations students submit after classes. The fact that I received the award this year is largely thanks to their positive feedback, together with the faculty’s nomination, of course. For an instructor, there is hardly a more meaningful form of appreciation or a stronger source of motivation. I regard this recognition as especially meaningful, and I am committed to approaching my future teaching with the same energy, dedication, and passion.”

While excelling in her teaching activities, Anita Kéri also plays a key role in strengthening the university’s international engagement. She serves as the SZTE EUGLOH Communication Officer within the European university alliance committed to advancing collaboration in global health. Her dedication to EUGLOH is demonstrated both by her work on the organizing committee of the 2024 Annual Summit hosted in Szeged and by her participation at this year’s summit in Porto as the University of Szeged’s delegate. In addition to representing the university, she also took the stage as a speaker in the session titled “Pedagogical Innovation: Best Practices Showcase,” where she presented the methodological innovations developed for one of her courses.
