In October 2025, the University of Szeged welcomed students from across Europe to participate in the EUReST Stress Management Training, organized within the framework of the EUGLOH Alliance. Focusing on practical strategies for mental well-being, the program underscored the importance of resilience and balance as essential foundations for both academic achievement and future professional life.
The training was structured in a blended format that combined online preparation with on-site learning. Three online lectures laid the groundwork for an intensive in-person workshop series, which introduced participants to the medical, legal, institutional, and workplace dimensions of stress. After completing a short online test, students joined interactive sessions in Szeged, where they learned practical tools and techniques for managing everyday stress and maintaining a healthy work–life balance during their studies and future careers. Participants also had the chance to experience autogenic training – a relaxation method widely recognized for its effectiveness in reducing anxiety and stress.

Eighteen students from seven partner universities of the EUGLOH Alliance participated in the program, guided by Dr. Szilvia Kassai and Dr. Kinga Palatinus from the Department of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Szeged’s Faculty of Medicine. Through a series of team-based activities, participants explored how self-awareness, emotional balance, and community support contribute to long-term well-being and personal success. On the final day, the teams presented their project work before a jury, showcasing what they had learned. In addition to the practical skills and coping strategies gained during the training, each student received a follow-up assignment: to design a personalized stress management plan based on their own life experiences and challenges.
In addition to the training itself, the EUReST program offered valuable opportunities for connection and networking. Participants engaged with members of the local EUGLOH student board on several occasions, forming meaningful relationships and friendships along the way. The organizers aimed not only to help students develop new practical skills but also to ensure they returned home with renewed self-confidence and a strengthened sense of community. After all, student well-being and strong interpersonal networks form the very foundations of global health – and of the EUGLOH Alliance itself.
