On the occasion of the European Mobility Week and Car Free Day, the University of Szeged is launching a two-wheeled challenge on its social media platforms from 16 to 22 September 2023. The organisers will raffle Jate Club tickets among those who complete the challenge.

The Universitas is launching its campaign between 16 and 22 September, on the occasion of the European Mobility Week and Car Free Day.
Mobility Week aims to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable urban transport.
The campaign is part of a Europe-wide initiative that focuses specifically on the positive economic effects of rational transport.
Car Free Day started as a citizens' initiative in 1997 in the French town of La Rochelle. In the following years, events have been held across France and Italy on the 22 September with the aim to raise awareness to the need for citizens to be environmentally aware and to choose other means of transport instead of the ever-increasing car traffic. One of the long-term objectives of the event is to encourage people who normally drive to use sustainable alternative means of transport.
For decades, the University of Szeged has placed great emphasis on promoting environmental awareness among both students and staff. Over the years, the Institution has taken a number of steps that have made SZTE one of the greenest universities in Europe and of the world for more than a decade. These have included the purchase of electric cars, the promotion of cycling mobility and the installation of bicycle storage facilities to support environmentally friendly transport.
What do you need to do to take part in the challenge and win a ticket to Jate Club?
- Arrive on campus with your bike, scooter (or any other sustainable alternative means of transport),
- Take a selfie/photograph of yourself and your sustainable means of transport in front of a university building,
- Upload the photo to your social media page (Facebook, Instagram),
- Tag the University of Szeged on it,
- Use the hashtag #ketkerekenazsztere.
