In order to avoid the excessive number of uncoordinated news and rumors recently published in the press, the University of Szeged informs its students that there has been a debate and physical abuse, which resulted in cut wounds, between two European citizens on the 14th September at Attila József Study and Information Centre.
The incident was professionally and immediately handled by the Staff of the SZTE’s Security Service with the help of the efficient cooperation of Emergency and Police. Such case has never even occurred at the SZTE before, this is an isolated case, and the case is being investigated by the Police. The University has initiated disciplinary proceedings and has imposed increased security measures in Attila József Study and Information Centre. The University is continuously consulting with the authorities concerned and student services, and the University is doing its outmost to protect its students; Szeged remains the safest city in Hungary.
