ICE 2018

This year, the 7th annual International Cultural Evening (ICE 2018) took place on 14th of April, 2018 at the Ujszegedi Sportcsarnok.

The International Cultural Evening is an event which unites students from different countries under one roof. Students get to catch a glimpse of other cultures by tasting a national food or watching a performance specific to that country. Everything from the food to the decorations are done by the international students themselves. These hardworking students manage to find the time to prepare for this event in between their studies.

ICE, was once again a beautiful night which concluded with good memories, delicious food and amazing performances. For this, we thank our extremely hard-working international students, the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ferenc Bari, and the International Students Secretariat for helping make the event spectacular. Special thanks to Basel Ramadan, Chirag Parjiea, and Michael Ramirez for their hard work.

SZTE Experience

Yuanyuan_ChenYuanyuan Chen - International Economy and Business - Stipendium student

My first impression about Szeged was, that it is „a standard lovely Western city. You can see colourful buildings everywhere; enjoy the sunshine, walk in the nature, study in the bright, high-tech library”. I think this is a perfect place for students where they can experience sparkling culture diversity, enjoy the peacefulness of everyday life, meet a lot of kind and motivating people, enjoy the inspiring academic atmosphere, taste the food not only from Hungary but also from the world. I can call Szeged my second home.

I’m from Ecuador and a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holder in my second year. I chose University of Szeged because of its highly ranked status in Hungary. I like the generosity of the people and the fantastic university facilities. The student environment is very relaxing, and you learn a lot from the cultural diversity. The student mentors are helpful. Professors and members of faculty staff are very approachable to guide and support you with academic challenges. Life in Szeged is exciting, and my favorite spot is the bank of Tisza River. The landscape of the bridge across the river and the beachside perspective is a beauty. I do enjoy the good academic system, and friendly environment.
