  • What is your motto?

“It always seems impossible until it is done.”

  • Why did you choose the University of Szeged as your study destination?

At first, I was drawn to Szeged because of the city itself. When I came across it while researching universities in Hungary, my first thought was, “I want to live there.” Later, after learning more about the University, I realized it wasn’t just the city that was impressive, the University of Szeged is also well-established with a strong academic reputation. It felt like “two birds with one stone.”

  • How do you find student life here in Szeged?

Student life in Szeged is really special. The community is close-knit, and you can always feel a sense of belonging here, which makes Szeged feel like a second home.

  • If you are a member of an alliance or student association, please describe your role in it, and how it affects your student life.

I am the current President of the International Student Union of Szeged (ISUS). ISUS plays a vital role in supporting international students, from academic assistance to organizing social and cultural events. We aim to make every student feel integrated, supported, and part of the Szeged community. Being part of ISUS has given me the opportunity to represent and help my peers in meaningful ways.

  • What did you learn from traveling abroad to pursue your education?

In one word, responsibility. Living abroad alone was a defining experience that helped me grow from a teenager into an independent adult. It taught me self-discipline, adaptability and helped me appreciate different cultures and ways of thinking. And yes, I even learned how to cook, which always impresses my mom when I visit!

  • What does your day look like outside of classrooms?

I enjoy walking, it’s my way to clear my mind and find peace, especially during stressful times. Szeged is perfect for this. Walking along the Tisza River or through Újszeged in the early morning or late evening is one of my favorite ways to unwind.

  • What is your favourite subject?

Every subject in medicine is interesting in its own way, and together they form the foundation of becoming a doctor. If I had to choose one, I’d say internal medicine, it’s the field I’m planning to pursue after graduation.

  • Name one thing the University has provided you.

The University of Szeged has given me opportunities for both academic and personal growth. It has provided a supportive environment where I could challenge myself, build confidence, and develop lifelong friendships with people from all over the world.

  •  What is your favourite spot in Szeged?

The city center and Karasz street. It might sound simple, but it’s a place where you can truly feel the heart of Szeged. The mix of students, locals, and the beautiful architecture make it the perfect place to appreciate the city’s atmosphere and energy.

  •  What is your advice for those who are thinking about studying abroad?

Studying abroad is one of the best decisions you can make. it’s not just about academics, but about discovering yourself. My advice is to be open-minded, patient, and proactive. There will be challenges, but every one of them will help you grow into a stronger and more capable version of yourself.

  •  Describe a situation that has happened to you in Szeged and left an impact on you.

Becoming the President of ISUS was truly life-changing. It taught me how much impact a group of motivated students can have when they work together.

  • What are your future plans?

After graduation, I plan to continue my medical career by pursuing my residency in Germany. Studying at the University of Szeged has given me a strong academic foundation and the confidence to take this next step toward becoming a physician.

  •  Any other thoughts that come to your mind that you would like to share as a closing sentence?

Szeged has truly become a second home to me. The experiences I’ve had here, both as a student and as part of ISUS, have shaped who I am today. I’m grateful for the friendships, the challenges, and the opportunities this university has given me.
