2. Why did you choose the University of Szeged as your study destination?
The University of Szeged holds an excellent reputation, particularly due to its association with Nobel Prize laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi, the discoverer of vitamin C. His legacy inspired me to join this distinguished institution
3. How do you find the student life here in Szeged?
Szeged is a cozy, student-friendly city that provides all essentials without the distractions often found in larger cities. It's an ideal environment for medical students, allowing us to focus primarily on our studies.
4. You are the President of the International Student Union of Szeged, What are your responsibilities and how do they contribute to enhancing the student experience?
As President of the International Student Union of Szeged, I lead efforts to enrich the cultural and academic experience for students studying in the health science fields. We advocate for students, facilitate communication with faculty, and ease the adjustment to life in Szeged.
5. What did you learn from traveling abroad to pursue your higher education?
Living and studying in Hungary, among students from diverse backgrounds, taught me to appreciate different cultures, values, and beliefs. This experience is shaping me into a compassionate doctor who values patient perspectives as much as their medical needs.
6. What does your day look like outside of classrooms?
Aside from rigorous study sessions to prepare for exams, I occasionally relax with classmates over a beer. Though these outings are infrequent, they bring great joy and a sense of camaraderie among us.
7. What is your favorite subject?
Currently, I am fascinated by Pediatrics, specifically Nephrology. As a 6th-year student, I rotate through various specialties, and my current pediatric rotation includes one-on-one tutoring that has been incredibly insightful.
8. Name one thing the University has provided you?
A lesson in humility. My initial arrogance softened as I progressed through my studies, helping me realize my vulnerabilities and fostering gratitude for each day at the university.
9. What is your favorite spot in Szeged?
TIK (the Library), where I spend most of my time studying and reflecting.
10. What do you advise for those who are thinking about studying abroad?
Embrace the opportunity without limits. Age or other factors should not deter you from pursuing your dreams, as was my experience when I arrived here at the age of 28.
11. Describe a situation that has happened to you in Szeged and left an impact on you?
Becoming the first Asian President of the Student Union was profoundly impactful. It was an honor to be recognized for my character and capabilities, transcending nationality and earning the trust of my peers.
12. What are your future plans?
I aim to specialize in medicine in the United States, subsequently branching into related business ventures that intertwine my medical and business expertise. Ultimately, my goal is to establish a charity focused on supporting single mothers and orphans.
13. Any other thoughts that come to your mind that you would like to share as a closing sentence?
