The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme enables international students to pursue higher education in Hungary through a comprehensive scholarship scheme supported by the Government of Hungary.
About the Programme
Established by the Government of Hungary in 2013, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme supports the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education and the development of international academic partnerships. The programme offers talented students from around the world the opportunity to pursue higher education in Hungary while fostering academic and cultural exchange between Hungary and partner countries.
What the Scholarship Covers
The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship provides tuition-free education, a monthly stipend, accommodation support, and health insurance. However, these benefits do not cover all living and study-related expenses, so students should have additional financial resources available to cover their costs during their studies at the University of Szeged.
For detailed information about the benefits provided by the scholarship, please visit the official website of the Tempus Public Foundation and consult the Provisions Covered section: Stipendium Hungaricum – About the Programme.
For further information about the cost of living in Szeged, please visit our Cost of Living in Szeged page.
Language of Instruction
Most international degree programmes at the University of Szeged are offered in English. Depending on the programme, studies may also be available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Turkish, or Hungarian.
Hungarian Language Preparatory Programme
The Hungarian Studies Center of the University of Szeged offers an intensive two-semester preparatory programme in Hungarian as a foreign language for international students who wish to pursue higher education in Hungary.
