How to Get from Budapest Airport to Szeged

Step 1: From Budapest Airport to the Train Station

- Take bus 200E from Terminal 2 to Ferihegy Train Station.

- Tickets: ~450 HUF (buy at BKK vending machine or via BudapestGO app).

- Duration: ~20 minutes.

- Buses run every 10–20 minutes during the day.


Step 2: Train from Ferihegy Station to Szeged

- Direct InterCity (IC) trains run to Szeged. (Ferihegy Train Station – Szeged)

- Duration: ~2 hours 10 minutes. (delays are possible)

- Seat reservation required.

- Tickets start from 3,900 HUF (~€10). Book here (account setup required).

- Trains run hourly during the day.


Pro tip: If you are staying in Budapest downtown first, you can also take this train from Budapest-Nyugati station to Szeged.


3. By Rideshare / Carpool (Motar)


Motar is Hungary’s most popular carpool platform (called Oszkár in Hungarian).

- Search for rides from Liszt Ferenc Repülőtér or central Budapest to Szeged.

- Duration: ~1 hour 40 minutes (from the airport)
