This Data Processing Notice provides a summary of how your personal data is used and protected in connection with the nomination and evaluation procedure for the JATE Award, in accordance with the provisions of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
About the JATE Award
Professor Katalin Karikó, a former student of József Attila University (JATE) – one of the legal predecessors of the University of Szeged (SZTE) – and currently a professor at SZTE, donated the replica of her 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, along with the accompanying monetary award of over $500,000, to her alma mater. Using the donated funds, Professor Katalin Karikó and the University of Szeged have established the JATE Award.
The award is presented annually at the University of Szeged during the ceremony held on the occasion of University Day (November 11).
It may be granted to three individuals:
- a current student of the University of Szeged (SZTE),
- a current instructor of the University of Szeged (SZTE), and
- a former student or former instructor of SZTE or its legal predecessor (JATE).
In each of the three categories, the JATE Award includes the following:
- a unique work of art and a presentation case;
- a certificate of honor; and
- a monetary prize.
