In cooperation between EPAM and the University of Szeged, a new module for students interested in IT has been opened from autumn 2023, regardless of their field of study.
The EPAM module is a collection of online courses designed to help you prepare for jobs in your company - whatever your field of training. EPAM is a large IT software development and consulting company with 57,450+ employees worldwide. Their mission is to support people interested in IT from a very young age, for example with colourful programmes for children and training courses for young professionals. The university module is a perfect fit for this undertaking, as it brings the expectations of IT positions closer to those who will eventually want to find a job in a large corporate environment.
The students of the University of Szeged can choose from a total of 39 courses and projects available for free on Coursera, selected by EPAM Szeged staff in accordance with the company's training and HR policy.These courses and projects, which are produced by IBM, Johns Hopkins University and Google, among others, help students learn C#, Java, JavaScript, .NET with the high quality they are used to on Coursera. In addition to the classic online courses, the collection includes short, hands-on exercises (so-called guided projects) that focus on a single solution and teach valuable IT skills through remote desktop access. In addition to content closely related to the IT domain, you can also learn, for example, problem solving and the now almost indispensable Agile project management.
The module is available to all students, regardless of their field of study, as the University of Szeged believes that the development of digital literacy and IT skills is an important goal in all fields of study, and that openness and the need for development are highly valued skills in the labour market. Therefore, the full content of the module, as well as some elements of it, can be taken up by all those who would like to learn more in this area or expand their training portfolio without enrolling in a new degree course. The certificates for the courses will be an excellent addition to CVs, especially for EPAM job interviews.
Coursera courses are free of charge for the students of the University of Szeged and are available for unlimited time during their studies, they can still be completed flexibly according to their own schedule and can be converted into credits during their studies.
