The JATE Award may be granted in three categories:
- to a University of Szeged (SZTE) student who holds an active student status at the University both at the time of nomination and at the time the decision is made;
- to a University of Szeged (SZTE) faculty member or researcher who is employed by the University on a full-time basis both at the time of nomination and at the time the decision is made;
- to a former student or faculty member/researcher of the University of Szeged (SZTE) or its predecessor institution, József Attila University (JATE),
who merits the nomination through outstanding academic achievements and personal qualities that embody the values and spirit of the Szeged university community.
