Microsatellite instability testing

The launch of this service is planned for Q2 2025.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a genetic alteration associated with specific cancer types and hereditary Lynch syndrome, resulting from the malfunction of a DNA repair system responsible for maintaining genomic integrity. Determining MSI status is particularly crucial when considering immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a treatment that blocks regulatory points in the immune system – following a clinical cancer diagnosis.

In accordance with the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) recommendations, and as a complement to commonly used immunohistochemical tests, our laboratory assesses MSI status using a multiplex PCR-based method optimized for diagnostic applications. This method is regarded as the gold standard in clinical research.
