Professor Lengyel serves as the Head of the Clinical Pharmacology Board and a Principal Investigator, with specializations in clinical pharmacology, internal medicine, diabetology, cardiology, and lipidology. He is also a certified hypertension specialist and primary care physician. In addition to these roles, he is the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and President of the Szent-Györgyi Albert Clinical Center at the University of Szeged.
As a clinical pharmacologist and internal medicine specialist, Professor Lengyel’s expertise is centered on diabetology, cardiology, lipidology, and hypertension management. His extensive research focuses on cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, along with their respective complications. Over the course of his academic career, he has authored more than 650 publications, which have received thousands of independent citations. He actively participates in clinical trials, including Phase I research, and is deeply committed to mentoring young researchers and nurturing the next generation of scientific talent, alongside his teaching responsibilities.
Dr. Takács is a Chief Clinical Physician and healthcare manager, specializing in internal medicine, endocrinology, clinical pharmacology, diabetology, and the treatment of obesity and hypertension.
Dr. Takács serves as Chief Clinical Physician at the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Szeged, where he is committed to providing high-quality care to patients with conditions related to internal medicine, endocrinology, and diabetology. As a clinical pharmacologist with expertise in healthcare management, he plays an active role in clinical trials for new drugs, particularly in Phase I research, while also contributing significantly to the organization and advancement of healthcare services. His research focuses on the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and hypertension, as well as modern therapeutic approaches for endocrine diseases. Throughout his academic career, he has authored numerous publications in both Hungarian and international journals and regularly presents his findings at professional conferences.
Since 2018, Szilvia Dr. Madarászné Várady has been actively involved in numerous clinical trials as a trial coordinator and monitoring specialist. In 2024, she took on a managerial role in trial coordination.
In 2024, Szilvia Dr. Madarászné Várady joined the Coordination Working Group of the Hungarian Clinical Trial Management Society. She is also currently pursuing specialized training at the University of Szeged to become a Clinical Research Associate (CRA).
