Technical specifications:

Special grade laboratory glassware (microscope slides and cuvettes) made of fused silica and optical glass are to be quoted that meets or exceeds the following technical specifications (partial quotes can be accepted):

 

Microscope slides:

A) Fused silica or synthetic amorphous quartz microscope slides:

UV grade quality, transmission range: 0.2 to 2 μm (>90% transmission)

Quantity: 20 pieces

Providing the optical transmission of these slides in the quotation would be appreciated.

 

B) Glass optical microscope slides:

Transmission range: please specify if available

Quantity: 144 pieces or the closest packaging quantity available

 

Common requirements for microscope slides:

Size: 75 mm x 25 mm or 3” x 1"

Thickness: 0.96 to 1.07mm, optimum 1mm

Plain i.e. non-frosted end.

Uncoated surface.

Fine ground or beveled edges are considered as a benefit.

 

Cuvettes:

C) UV grade fused silica/quartz cuvettes:

Quality: UV grade (Suprasil or equivalent), transmission range: 0.19 to 2 μm

Quantity: 2 pieces

 

D) Glass cuvettes:

Quality: Special optical glass (OS grade), transmission range: 0.32 to 2.5 μm

The bottom of the cuvette must be polished.

Quantity: 4 pieces

 

Common requirements for cuvettes:

Outside dimensions (H x W x D): 45 mm x 12.5 mm x 12.5 mm

Volume: 3.5 ml

Light path length: 10 mm

Fused (as opposed to glued or epoxy) construction is preferred.

Each cuvette should have a lid/cap preferably made of Teflon.

Suppliers are kindly requested to provide all actual specifications of the products in their quotations.

Following the submission deadline, the Inviting Authority evaluates the offers and candidates are informed on the result with the least possible delay.
