The University of Szeged started a new website on the 17th of January celebrating the birthday of Katalin Karikó. On this special day, the researcher-professor of the University arrived in Hanoi, where she was celebrated as a guest of the "VinFuture Award Week", and received a birthday cake and a bouquet of flowers.

-"Personal relationships are important. Believe in yourself! Focus on what you can achieve, what you can change!” Katalin Karikó's good advices are highlighted in a series of quotes on the new website of the University, both in Hungarian and in English.

At the opening ceremony of the 2021/2022 academic year, the researcher-professor of the University shared some of her experiences with the freshmen. Katalin Karikó's powerful speech and information about the world-famous mRNA research are also easily accessible on the thematic website of the University.

In the chapter "From Kisújszállás through Szeged to world fame", for example, you can discover new, previously not public photos. "Science above all" is a section dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge. The "Awards, Prizes and Recognitions" section of the website provides a guide to the more than seventy awards that Katalin Karikó has received.

The Katalin Karikó virtual exhibition” of the SZTE Klebelsberg Library was updated on the 17th of January, the birthday of the researcher who paved the way for the development of mRNA-based vaccines to control the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the new additions to the library, which is also accessible from the new website, is a video of Katalin Karikó sharing her inspiring thoughts as the guest of honour at the "For Women in Science" festival.

Today, the world-famous Hungarian biochemist arrived in Hanoi, where he was greeted with a cake and a bouquet of flowers on her birthday.

Katalin Karikó will also participate in the "Science for Life" symposium as a guest of the "VinFuture Award Week" from 18 to 21 January 2022. The researchers will discuss energy, artificial intelligence and health, vietnamnews.vn reported.

Some Nobel Prize-winning scientists, such as Gérard Mourou, who has many links to the University of Szeged and ELI and is considered the "father" of ultrashort pulse laser amplification technology, will give their views on the future of science.

In the Future of Health section, the co-winners of the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences 2022, including Katalin Karikó, researcher- professor at the University of Szeged, will present their discoveries that paved the way for Covid-19 vaccine technology.

In the "VinFuture Science Week" programme, well known scientists also talk about their passions, achievements and sacrifices. The event will conclude with a scientific dialogue between VinFuture Prize-winning researchers.
