The University of Szeged has recently received anesthesia machines, ultrasound equipment, mobile CT, automated nucleic acid isolation devices and endoscopes for epidemiological control. The equipment with an approximate value of 840 million HUF, will be used, if necessary, in the epidemiological units of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Health Centre and in the epidemiological care centre established in the ELI-ALPS Laser Research Institute.

As previously reported, the University of Szeged established an epidemiological care centre at Hospital No. II. (“II-es kórház) in Kálvária sgt. with significant internal capacity redeployment and development at the end of March, providing 240 ventilated beds if needed. The University of Szeged, as the highest level and primary patient care institution in Southern Hungary, has prepared a care facility in the ELI-ALPS Laser Research Institute in preparation for the worst situation. In the halls of the centre equipped with special filtering equipment, the care of critically ill patients would be provided, with a number of 118 ventilated beds.
