SZTE Welcome Days 2019

Enrolling international students of SZTE are welcomed by the leadership of the University on the 30th of August and on the 6th of September at József Attila Study and Information Centre. Among others, various cultural and recreation activities are welcoming them this week.

More than 1,150 international students are expected to start their studies at the University of Szeged in September. As part of their orientation SZTE Welcome Days are organized. Vice Rector for International and Public Affairs, Dr. habil. Péter Zakar delivers an opening speech to the newly arrived students on Friday, 30th of August and 6th of September. SZTE Start Scholarships are awarded to newly arrived students on these welcoming events.


With the help of the booths of SZTE service units the participating freshmen will be introduced to welfare services of the University supporting their studies, such as Student Counselling, Confucius Institute, Francophone University Centre, American Corner, Klebesberg Library, SZTE Alma Mater, SZTE Career.

Please note that attending the Welcome Day on 6th September does not exempt you from attending the lectures on the first week.


The declared intention of events is to make the newcomers feel like they are about to become a member of the biggest community in town. The integration of the international students is also assisted by this website providing useful information to start their studies at SZTE.
