Orientation Weeks at the University of Szeged

Enrolling international students of SZTE are welcomed with various programmes and events describing the university facilities between 27th August and 7th September at József Attila Study and Information Centre. Among others, various cultural and recreation activities are welcoming them this week.

More than 1,200 international students are expected to start their studies at the University of Szeged in September. The orientation of the international students ends with the SZTE Welcome Day, when Vice Rector for International and Public Affairs, Dr. habil. Péter Zakar delivers a speech to the newly arrived students on Friday, 7th September. Registered freshmen will be introduced to welfare services supporting their studies at SZTE, such as Student Counselling, Conficius Institute, Francophone University Center, Klebesberg Library, ISUS – International Student Union of ÁOK etc.

Opening Ceremony

Welcome Speech to be delivered by the Vice Rector for International and Public Affairs, Dr. habil. Péter Zakar

Time: 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
Introduction to your Stipendium Hungaricum coordinators and to your mentors

Time: 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Presentation on Immigration Issues

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Presentation delivered by the Police

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 a.m.
Introduction to SZTE Services in the form of stands of the service offices

The declared intention of events is to make the newcomers feel like they are about to become a member of the biggest community in town. The integration of the international students is also assisted by this website providing useful information to start their studies at SZTE.
