Two-day Hybrid Conference held at the University of Szeged

The University of Szeged organized a two-day hybrid workshop-conference titled “Cultural Production and Alternative Economic Models: Solidarity and Interdisciplinarity in Practice" on April 11-12, 2025.

The aim of the event was to present the preparations for the creation of an interdisciplinary master's program, Public Humanities, at the University of Szeged, within the framework of the EUGLOH European consortium. The main topic of the conference was how the knowledge offered by traditional humanities disciplines can be connected to contemporary social and economic problem-solving in the field of education.

Invited speakers participated from various countries and fields of expertise, including applied arts, cultural and media studies, cultural economics, ecological economics, and sociology. During the two days of workshop-conference, experts will outline different scenarios to explore the interconnections between research, artistic practice, and education. The first day featured presentations and discussions in Hungarian, while the second day was conducted in English.

The event aimed to provide participants with an opportunity to jointly discuss the aforementioned questions and explore both theoretical and practical solutions. After 20-minute keynote presentations, a 60-minute discussion followed, which was concluded with a debate involving professionals from the practical field.
