New President of the EUGLOH USZ Local Student Board

With Ms. Florabelle Cabarrubias leaving presidency, it is time for a new leadership!

Please welcome Mr. Aleksandar Pilipovic, from MSc Geoinformatics, Faculty of Science and Informatics, as the new President of the EUGLOH USZ Student Board.

My name is Aleksandar Pilipović, and I come from Serbia, where I completed my BSc studies in Geography. Currently, I am in my first year of MSc Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Science and Informatics at the University of Szeged. The opportunity to learn and work with people from around the world is an amazing chance for personal and academic development. In EUGLOH, I look forward to meeting many individuals, sharing knowledge, and gaining diverse experiences. This global collaboration is not just about my growth but also about contributing to the collective wisdom of the EUGLOH community.

Please read the welcoming words of Aleks:

Dear EUGLOH Community,

I am deeply honored to announce that I have been elected as the new President of EUGLOH. This opportunity marks an incredible milestone in my academic and personal journey, and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported and trusted me along the way.

Being part of the University of Szeged, one of the founding members of this remarkable alliance, I have witnessed firsthand how EUGLOH empowers students and researchers to think beyond borders. It connects us through shared values of collaboration, diversity, and innovation — values that are more important than ever in addressing the global challenges of our time.

As president, I am committed to strengthening our network by fostering inclusivity, interdisciplinary cooperation, and student engagement across all partner universities. I believe that every student’s voice matters and that together, we can continue to build bridges between education, science, and society.

For me personally, this role is not only an honor but also a transformative experience. Leading EUGLOH from Szeged provides a chance to bring our university’s vibrant energy, scientific excellence, and international spirit to the forefront of European collaboration.

I look forward to working closely with all members of the EUGLOH alliance to create meaningful opportunities for learning, innovation, and growth — because when we unite knowledge across borders, we create lasting impact.

Thank you once again for your trust and inspiration. Let’s make this next chapter of EUGLOH’s journey a powerful one — together.

Best regards,
Aleksandar Pilipović
